Setting up a proxy in the Shadowrocket app for IOS

Changing the region and IP address on a mobile device is often necessary, particularly for accessing blocked apps. To do this on an iPhone, you can connect to a proxy server using an app like Shadowrocket.

Shadowrocket is a widely-used iOS app that facilitates custom proxy configurations. In regions like Russia, where new websites and applications are frequently blocked, including popular social networks, Shadowrocket can be a valuable tool. By adding a server and activating the connection through the app, users can bypass these blocks and access sites and applications available in the server's country.

Connecting to a proxy server is also essential in scenarios like creating multiple accounts on one social network from a single device. Since this typically can't be done from one IP address, changing the user's digital fingerprint, which includes the device’s network address, is necessary to circumvent service verification systems.

Step-by-step proxy setup in Shadowrocket on iPhone

To configure a proxy in Shadowrocket on your IOS device, follow these steps:

  1. Install and open the Shadowrocket app on your IOS device.
  2. Tap the plus icon in the top right corner to begin configuring your proxy.

  11. Use the “Connectivity Test” to check if your Shadowrocket configuration is functional. If there are issues, it could be due to incorrect data entry or server unavailability at the moment.

  13. Activate the proxy by tapping the toggle switch next to the rocket icon. The status should change from “Not Connected” to the server's address.

  15. To disable the proxy, simply tap the toggle switch again.

For optimal performance on an iPhone proxy app, it's essential to choose a fast and stable server. Public proxies are often not suitable as they can have slow data transfer speeds and high ping due to heavy usage.
