Connecting a proxy server on Windows 7 is the ability to hide your valid IP address and geolocation when using the Internet. It will become a kind of intermediary between your computer and those sites to which you will connect. To configure proxy settings on Windows 7, you do not need in-depth technical knowledge or many years of experience. Just follow the instructions for your operating system, which are written below.
To configure a proxy server, follow the steps below:
You will see a window with the heading "Local Area Network (LAN) Settings"
To configure the proxy server on Windows 7, check the box next to two points: “Use a proxy server for your LAN” (not applicable for dial-up or VPN connections) and “Bypass proxy server for local addresses”.
НSetup completed. We do not recommend using a free proxy server for Windows 7. To reliably and safely work on the Internet, it is better to connect a paid private proxy.
You can connect the intermediary server not only to Windows 7 but also to other operating systems. Read our proxy configuration guide on Ubuntu.
To check the proxy server, do 3 simple steps:
If a different IP address is displayed, try checking the correctness of the data you entered in the system settings. If this does not help, then probably the specified proxy server is not working. It will have to be replaced.
To disable the proxy in Windows 7, follow this instruction:
Please note that even after you uncheck the box next to “Use proxy server for local connections”, the proxy data still remains. In the future, you will not have to re-enter the IP address and port to activate the added server. You just need to check the box again.
If you are not going to use the specified proxy on Windows 7 anymore, then you can immediately erase its data.
You can also connect proxies to Windows 10 and other versions of this operating system.
